Part-time Program Leader / Program Aides - San Francisco, CA

IMPACT IN THE COMMUNITY
After School Enrichment Program (ASEP) is a California 501©(3) non-profit organization. ASEP’s mission is to provide the community with equal access to quality after school enrichment programming by combining core values of Arts Enrichment, Academic Support and Health and Wellness into a comprehensive and specialized educational experience.
We serve over 450 San Francisco youth in grades kindergarten through 5th grade during after school and summer time programming. Through a mixed funding model, 250 at-risk or underserved students attend our program completely free.

CRIMINAL CONVICTION STATEMENT 
All ASEP employees must undergo criminal background checks and TB risk assessments as mandated by California state law prior to their start dates at ASEP. By submitting an application, you acknowledge that your employment with ASEP would be conditioned on satisfactory background check and completion of the TB risk assessment.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Will design and implement curriculum for youth in grades kindergarten through 5th grade. The curriculum can span a broad range of topics from design, arts, science, social studies, language arts to physical education and wellness.
  • Throughout the week ASEP Program Leaders and Program Aides meet to design weekly lesson plans or attend professional development training sessions. 
  • ASEP encourages Program Leaders and Program Aides to get creative in their curriculum development process and focus the learning to be as fun and engaging as possible! 
  • Program Leaders and Program Aides support ASEP youth in their academic learning and homework responsibilities and promote healthy living through ASEP's Health and Wellness program. 
  • Program Leaders and Program Aides are supported by two Site Coordinators who are both are available on site every day to help communicate with parents, teachers and students. 
  • Safety is ASEP's top priority so interested applicants should have strong organization skills and feel confident in their ability to lead and engage students throughout the after school day form sign in to sign out. 

​QUALIFICATIONS

  • Background in education with a B.A or B.S or at least 48 education units
  • 1+ year prior experience on working in a childcare setting under the direction of a child care center director and/or in after school programming
  • Six post-secondary units in language, recreation, physical education, elementary school education, art, music, or dance relevant to elementary school children or be concurrently enrolled in classes
  • Applicants should be able to work independently and communicate effectively with members of their team when needed​
  • Feels comfortable working in a fast past and changing environment

COMPENSATION 

This is a part-time hourly role that is set up as contractor status.

Mondays through Fridays.
Schedule: 1:45 pm - 6:00 pm depending upon the school site. 
ASEP operates at McKinley Elementary School and Daniel Webster Elementary School. 
Pay rate: $14-$17 per hour depending upon experience and education
